December 8, 2011 - Last night another Las Vegas pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle as he apparently attempted to cross the street outside a marked crosswalk. The latest in a long string of recent auto-pedestrian crashes in the city occurred at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday night near Las Vegas Boulevard and Walnut Road.

CBS Channel 8 News is reporting that police say it does not appear drugs or alcohol were factors in the city's 66th fatal auto accident this year.

At the time of this post, neither the driver nor the pedestrian have been officially identified to the public.

We previosly published a post here about the concern raised over the number of recent pedestrian fatalities in the Las Vegas metro area, Pedestrian Safety Town Hall Set in Wake of Las Vegas Fatal Accidents. Last week an elderly man was struck and killed in the roadway on Rainbow Boulevard.
